Beat Winter Bloating Probiotic Green Smoothie

  • 2 cups coconut water kefir
  • 1 apple, rough chopped
  • 1 pear, rough chopped
  • 1 cucumber, skin peeled and chopped
  • 1 handful of spinach (about 2 cups)
  • ½ avocado
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 tbsp ginger, roughly chopped (skin can be left on)
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • juice of 1 lime
  1. Put all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. If you are using a standard blender or a food processor (I used to use one before I bought a Vitamix), add the liquid and leafy greens first and blend them for about a minute or while you are chopping up the rest of the fruit and vegetables. Chop the fruit and veggies into smaller pieces so they blend more smoothly. Peel and grate the ginger instead of chopping it into chunks. Add in the avocado last.
This makes 2 big servings. I usually drink half one morning and save the other half for the next.
